Our first print issue!
The Archives Issue, published as a limited-run print edition in August 2025, is our collective attempt to reckon with the future of audio documentary by engaging with the past.
From AI zombies in the audio archives, to WhatsApp voice memos as archival material, to transforming Black archives into tools for navigating the future, to interrogating the aesthetics and ethics of sonic IDs, in this issue an international gathering of contributors consider how audio documentary produces, reproduces and intersects with the archive.
Featuring essays, conversations, and practical How-To tips from working audio documentarians at the forefront of audio archival practice and critique.
